As Principal Lawyer of JOA Law, Jedidiah Amoako dedicates her practice to advocating for individuals navigating the complexities of Child Protection Law and Family Law. Her approach is rooted in the belief that this work is not merely a career, but a calling—one that demands both legal expertise and genuine compassion for those she serves.
Jedidiah's educational foundation reflects this commitment. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care with a minor in Psychology. She also completed her articles at the Ministry of the Attorney General's Office of the Children's Lawyer, thriving as she represented children and youth. This unique combination of legal training and developmental expertise allows her to approach cases with a nuanced understanding of the children and families at the heart of every matter.
Beyond her legal practice, Jedidiah is deeply engaged in shaping the future of child-centered professions. As the current Co-Chair of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Child and Youth Care Program Advisory Council, she works alongside educators and practitioners to guide the next generation of professionals dedicated to supporting children and youth. Her advisory work extends to various non-profit organizations serving marginalized communities, where she contributes her expertise to strengthen their impact.
Jedidiah maintains her good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, and is a member of the Toronto Lawyers Association, Durham Region Law Association, the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, and the Family Law Association. These professional affiliations keep her connected to the broader legal community and informed of evolving practices in her areas of focus.
Jedidiah finds balance through her artistic pursuits and her Christian faith, both of which ground her and influence her commitment to serving others with integrity and purpose.
